N2 - © 2018 IEEE. This work presents two different strategies that use the stored charge in the DC bus capacitor of a residential grid connected inverter to inject a small quantity of active power. When the methods are applied to a number of inverters in a residential area a reduction of the peak of electric demand seen by the distribution transformer is obtained. Both methods can operate without synchronization between the inverters, and are validated for simulated and experimental demand curves.
