Abstract
The American series "The Simpsons" has been broadcasted worldwide, this series presents several collective imaginaries regarding American society, imaginaries that are propagated to the different cultures it reaches. Latin America has not been exempt from these stereotypes. In this sense, this article seeks to make visible these stereotypes that are presented in the series through the small screen. The aim is to show how in Latin American families these stereotypes appear as something acquired. This research is descriptive and applies qualitative methodology, for the collection of information, the method of content analysis of the 11 episodes of the series "The Simpsons" season 29 was applied. Thus, it was found that 82% of the episodes showed profound family dysfunction, while 18% exhibited severe family dysfunction during the first 11 episodes of season 29.
