Abstract

This paper describes the experience of the organizational process, the cohesion of the ayllus and their articulation to the community organization in the ancestral territory of the settlement self-defined as the Kichwa Kayambi Indigenous Community of San Pablo Urku, in the Olmedo parish of the Cayambe canton, in the province of Pichincha. Rooted in their history, culture and practice of union struggle as peasant workers, the ayllus have maintained their structure and on that basis have formed the community organization. Some of the challenges facing the community today are: the exercise of unity, reciprocity, solidarity, communism, the strengthening of cultural identity and the economic development of the ayllus, in order to improve the living conditions of the families. The research includes the process of productive entrepreneurship of the ayllus and families gathered in the Centro Agropecuario de Productores de Leche, the community enterprise for the administration of the water system for human consumption, of the 6 sectors (San Pablo Urku Chico, Pigpiga, San Pablo Urku Grande, Ñaños Mirador, Centro Cívico and Carabotija Nº2) and of the internal organizations.
