Abstract
The objective of this paper is to analyze the possibilities of "pedagogical alternatives" in the Intercultural Bilingual Education (EIB) program at the Salesian Polytechnic University of Ecuador (UPS). The reflection incorporates the categories of "intercultural education" and "intercultural pedagogy". The "critical pedagogy" and together with it the notion of amorevolezza, as foundations of Salesian education at the UPS, complement the elements of analysis for the understanding of the construction of the pedagogical subject, as a result of the pedagogical relationality in the educational practices of the IBE career. The reflection concludes by highlighting some of these alternative practices.
