Abstract

© 2016 IEEE. This paper is concerned with the analysis based on the wavelet transform for minimizing total harmonic distortion (THD) in distribution systems, The main idea is to decompose an input signal, which is the waveform of current or voltage and propose an algorithm to make an summation of the harmonics that occur at a certain frequency and the signal analyzed using filters with to reduce current harmonics that are the most dangerous for users. such problems are very common in distribution systems, due to the variety of electronic devices found in the users homes, the levels of current or voltage are outside the permitted range for an extended period of time can cause conflicts and problems overheating of the system as distribution transformers and neutral conductors. To implement the algorithm we use random signals which will be reconstructed and analyzed to study THD with the wavelet transform that allows use parameters such as time and frequency of the signal.
