Abstract
The present work considers heterogeneous wireless network planning to provide smart metering within a neighboring area network to provide smart metering within a neighboring area network with its respective connectivity to the central office of an electric distribution company. In addition, the paper presents a planning model to achieve a subway power distribution network in a defined area. Both the heterogeneous wireless network and the distribution network are implemented in a real geo-referenced area and allow minimizing the cost for the use of telecommunication and electrical resources. the concept of an efficient smart grid is achieved by minimizing costs and increasing the reliability of the costs and increasing the reliability of the network considering capacity restrictions and user coverage.
