Abstract

Smart metering is used to control, monitor and know the status of the system in real time; for that reason the incorporation of smart grids primarily benefits the electrical system; with the reuse of infrastructure and cellular spectrum helps to mitigate the time and cost of its implementation. In order to reduce traffic and saturation of cellular networks, it is proposed to determine feasible routes, an optimal routing for sending information, through an analysis of optimal links by distance and also by traffic flow. Thanks to this analysis, it is determined which is the optimal route when there is no traffic in the cellular network, when there is a prolonged traffic, and which are the traffic tendencies that can be produced by the excessive sending of information from the smart meters to the electric distribution companies.
