Abstract

This article proposes to show how school-age boys and girls assume diverse conceptualizations about Good Living; what meanings, evaluations and perspectives they give it through reflections and experiences, about situations and events in which they participate (directly or indirectly) or about the information they receive (inside or outside the school). The fieldwork was conducted in a coeducational and public elementary school in the city of Quito during 2012, from a theoretical-methodological ethnographic approach. At the same time, a series of playful and journalistic workshops were implemented with a small group of students. It is shown how the representations of the good student-good citizen assumed by boys and girls coexist with other senses and citizen experiences that help them to problematize reality and to think about a real and concrete idea of good living.
