Abstract
The present research deals with the deformation modulus. Among the benefits of this parameter, it can be highlighted that it serves as an indicator of the behavior against loads, and this understanding is fundamental to analyze geotechnical problems of civil works. In this work, a methodology to obtain the Deformation Modulus of cangahua is investigated. Ultimately, it is sought to characterize by several investigative ways the relationships of the Modulus of Deformation with other parameters obtained from triaxial, unconsolidated and undrained tests. The investigation of the modulus of elasticity of a soil will serve to know the properties of the material and the elastic behavior; it will have an economic component insofar as its better knowledge will optimize costs in the execution of works on this ground since better security will be obtained with respect to the settlements of superstructures, and a social component in the protection of the population against risks and latent dangers in the different constructions due to an uncertainty of the conditions of the soil where the same ones are established.
