Abstract

This article is focused on scientific research on the proper use of refrigerants for domestic use and its environmental impact, it has been done because this entails a great problem for humanity, although it is true that the technology that develops day by day is very advantageous for the development of society, is also attentive to our planet, which is ethically not right, because the environment is being contaminated by the activities we do daily human beings, mainly in our homes which commonly use refrigeration equipment such as air conditioning, refrigerators, etc. For the operation of such equipment, they need refrigerant gases, which is one of the main factors that influence global pollution. The negative effect represented by the use of these refrigerant gases is the cause of the progressive damage of the ozone layer causing its progressive deterioration, as well as the so-called greenhouse effect, this being a real danger because it causes global warming on the planet and with it the acid rains, the fire of the forests and the melting of the glaciers. Due to the negative effects caused by these refrigerant gases, different ethical treaties were developed for the benefit of the planet, one of them the Montreal protocol, which restricted the production, use, and trade of CFCs (chlorofluorocarbon refrigerants) as a means to protect the ozone layer and as a response to this situation, natural refrigerants have again been considered as an ecological option.
