Abstract

© 2017 IEEE. The purpose of this article is to propose the use of semipersonalized Virtual Agents as a therapeutic support for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The contribution of this work is in the raised hybrid model that combines artificial intelligence and human intelligence. We review the main technologies used in the diagnosis and treatment of autism. Then we focus on the use of Virtual Agents as a means of interaction. Finally, the AVATAR Project is presented as an integral solution to improve the social skills of children with autism.
