Abstract

According to given facts by the World Health Organization, 1 in 10 deaths worldwide is due to an external cause of injury. In the field of prehospital trauma care, adequate and timely treatment in the golden period can define survival of a patient. For a medical student, it is fundamental to receive an adequate preparation to address trauma victims. In this line, in this paper, we present a multidisciplinary experience aimed at developing an intelligent educational environment where the medical students can practice the drug administration process in prehospital trauma care area. On the other hand, the computer science students can develop skills related to knowledge modeling and working in multidisciplinary teams. Our proposal was validated by 60 volunteers: 34 students of the computer science career and 26 medical students. The results show excellent levels of acceptance by both engineering students and medical students.
