The Research Group in Telecommunications and Telematics of the Salesian Polytechnic University (GITEL) arose from the initiative of a group of university professors associated with the area of telecommunications. Its purpose is the development of research in the area of telecommunications that contribute to the solution of problems through the adaptation, transformation and development of existing knowledge and technology at local, regional, national and international level in the area of telecommunications.
These are the objectives of GITEL:
- To contribute to the solution of the problems in the area of telecommunications that will be dealt with in the future. in the country and at the international level
- Create links with both public and private telecommunications companies of the country and abroad, in order to be able to constitute interdisciplinary groups of experts. research and development in such a way as to be able to provide solutions to the problems to be solved. in the area of telecommunications.
- To publish the results of the investigation developed in the media and/or scientific and academic events, national and international, contributing to spread the work in investigation that promoted by the Salesian Polytechnic University.
- Motivate the university community to get involved in applied research activities through projects linked between university - research center and society.
- Contribute to the dissemination of knowledge in the area of telecommunications in the population.
- Contribute to the academic and research training of UPS students (generation of training courses, undergraduate and postgraduate theses, internship work in industry)
