Organization profile

Organization profile

Currently, the development of automatic systems is reconfiguring industrial and social processes. Thus, advances in artificial intelligence, such as those developed by companies such as Google or IBM, are changing the way companies are administered and managed, educated or produced new products. On the other hand, the development of service robotics and computer systems and their interaction with people is strongly contributing to improving people's quality of life and transforming urban environments.

To respond to these new scientific-technological challenges, the research group on Interaction, Robotics and Automation (GIIRA) has been established, where we aspire to develop scientific-technological tools with which the fields of: human-interaction can be covered. machine, robotics and artificial intelligence.

Research lines:

Human-machine interaction
Control Engineering and Automation Technologies
Support and Industrial Robotics

Coordinator:

Christian Raul Salamea Palacios (csalamea@ups.edu.ec)

UN Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. Our work contributes towards the following SDG(s):

  • SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-being
  • SDG 7 - Affordable and Clean Energy
  • SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production
