Currently, UPS has several research groups and laboratories, where the Research Group on Inclusion Technologies and Artificial Intelligence (GI-IATa) stands out. Likewise, it is essential to point out that the UPS has been a pioneer in the development of various research projects related to the support of special education in various areas of disability: Childhood Cerebral Palsy (PCI), visual and hearing problems, prevention, autism, etc

Likewise, the GI-IATa has developed for more than 5 years around 50 prototypes or technologies to support special education, through research projects that have been channeled through final degree projects, internships, subject and extensions and where we have collaborated with important institutions among which are: the National Council on Disabilities (CONADIS), the Special Institute for the Blind and Deaf of Azuay (IEISA), the Institute of Cerebral Palsy of Azuay (IPCA), the "Stephen Hawking" Special Fiscal Institute, the "General Dávalos" Foundation and the Pilot Institute for Integration of Azuay (IPIA).
