GIFACT will have as its fundamental objectives:
a. In research: The development of specialized studies in the areas of finance, auditing, accounting and taxation.
b. In teaching: The integration of undergraduate and graduate professors and students to research projects, as well as the formulation and promotion of postgraduate projects that allow the development of areas of interest to the group.
c. In the linkage: Transfer scientific knowledge maintaining the linkage with public institutions, society organizations and the population in general.
Considering the transformations in the implementation and dissemination of accounting principles and standards of general acceptance, internal auditing procedures, tax policy and financial analysis, GIFACT will promote the formation of a solid faculty with great capacity for research and innovation, promoting student participation, institutional linkage and contact with the community; encouraged that research papers are presented in
high impact congresses and journals.

The work of the research group will be carried out along the following lines
approved by the Salesian Polytechnic University:
- Countable and tributary applications, in the line of investigation of Audit and Specific Applications.
- Alternative Finances, in the research line of Popular Economy, Popular Finances and MSMEs.
- Social balance and development of competences in the line of research of Social Responsibility, redistribution of wealth and quality of life.
- Intangible capital in the international market, in the line of research on International economic policy and fair trade.
